Emmerdale fans are feeling confused over Aaron Dingle’s behaviour after he declared he wanted nothing more to do with Robert Sugden.
After being part of iconic couple “Robron”, Aaron had to bid farewell to Robert Sugden when his now ex-husband was sentenced in 2019 for the death of Lee Posner.
However, Robert unexpectedly interrupted their big day as he was released from prison early. Aaron felt conflicted as Robert declared love for his ex-husband.
Although the pair shared a passionate kiss, Aaron decided to go ahead with his wedding to John.
Since then, Robert has become determined to get to the bottom of what John is hiding as he’s started to connect the dots that John always happens to be around when a villager is in danger.
As viewers will know, John puts lives at risk in order to save them and be deemed a “hero” – he even accidentally killed Nate Robinson during a failed attempt.
During Thursday’s hour-long instalment, Robert could be seen provoking John on purpose, trying to get more information out of him.
Their feud was abruptly stopped by Victoria who begged for her brothers to stop arguing. Unfortunately for Robert, his involvement in the break in at Moira’s farm was revealed making him public enemy number one again.
Aaron spoke to John about his desire for Robert to bid farewell to the village, and John although trying to get Aaron to support Robert, had a plan of his own.
John decided to goad Robert later on, causing an angry Robert to lash out with a wrench and attack John.
Aaron was seen fuming while at the hospital, worried for John’s life. His anger resulted in him threatening to “kill” Robert – and fans are confused by the change in upcoming episodes.
Spoilers have revealed that Aaron will be begging Robert to stay in the village on Monday, and viewers have been trying to work out how he changes his mind so quickly.
On X (formerly known as Twitter), @filipezei wrote: “Ok I’m finding it hard to theorise: can anyone guess how we go from today, with Aaron threatening to kill Robert; to Monday, when Aaron is supposed to tenderly ask Robert to stay and say he is valued? There’s only one episode in between”.
@HighStreetRichB replied: “I feel like we have gone from 1 to 100 in one episode before this I would of said well this could happen etc but now I’m thinking the same how do we go from Aaron being hurtful to Rob (which is understandable) to Aaron begging Rob to stay”
Another viewer @yorkshirelassX0 theorised: “John will say it was a ptsd episode and they should help Robert, Aaron will worship at his feet which gives John exactly what he wants, Robert looking mentally unwell and Aaron hero worshipping him”.
