Finn Carr has been in the thick of the action on General Hospital since he learned that Britt Westbourne gave birth to him after stealing an embryo belonging to his parents, Lulu Spencer and Dante Falconeri — and now that returning GH star Kelly Thiebaud has confirmed that she will once again be playing the supposedly deceased Britt, there will surely be no shortage of drama for Carr to play out in the future. While Rocco is still in the dark about Britt’s presence in the land of the living, the actor tells Soap Opera Digest that his first real-life encounter with Thiebaud was a memorable one.
Fancy Meeting You Here
“It’s a pretty funny story of how we first saw each other!” Carr reports. “I was just finishing up my scenes and she was coming in [to film] later in the day. I had all my bags with me to get out of work, and I, like, dropped a bunch of stuff on the floor and was picking it up, and my hair was all messed up — I had it in a ponytail, I think, because I was washing my face. I looked like a complete lunatic and she was walking by and she was like, ‘Oh, hi!’ And I was like, ‘Hi!’ In my head, of course, I was like, ‘Oh, no, this is the first time we meet?!’ Because I looked a little deranged. But yeah, I said hi to her in my funny outfit and hairdo and she was really nice! I was like, ‘Well, I’m the person you stole all those years ago,’ and she was like, ‘Oh, my gosh, wow! That’s so cool!’ She is someone I’ve talked a lot about on the show, and I finally got to put a face to the name.
The actor looks forward to getting to know Thiebaud better as the storyline surrounding Britt’s return continues to unfold. “I hope I have scenes with her,” he enthuses. “I don’t know yet if we’re going to have scenes together, but I assume we will, and that would definitely be fun!”
Based on how Lulu reacted to finding Rocco with Obrecht, Rocco choosing to develop a relationship with Britt would likely cause friction between the teen and his mom, but according to Carr, Lulu needn’t worry about Rocco seeing Britt as another mother figure. “I’ve been playing it as Rocco purely just wanting to know more information [about Britt],” he shares. “There has been some tension with Rocco and Lulu, definitely, but I don’t think Rocco is seeing her as any less his mom. I don’t think him being curious is a telltale sign that he’s going to favor Britt, or start to favor Britt more than Lulu or anything like that. I don’t think the fans need to be worried about any of that happening! I don’t know what’s going to happen when Rocco finally meets Britt, but so far, as of right now, I don’t think he’s going to be wanting to think of her as his mom or think of himself as Britt’s son.”
