Former Emmerdale star Fiona Wade has revealed details of her latest role, two years after leaving the ITV soap.
The actress, who is best known for her role as the Dales’ Priya Kotecha from 2011 to 2023, is set to appear in a new US sitcom.
Titled Going Dutch, the show also features American comic and Hollywood actor Denis Leary and the UK’s own comedy legend Catherine Tate.
The show follows Denis’ character Army Colonel Patrick Quinn after he’s reassigned to lead a military base in the Netherlands following an offensive rant.
Sharing a series of snaps from filming, Fiona wrote on Instagram: ‘This was an absolute joy to be a part of.. working with these wonderful humans! The brand new sitcom for @foxtv ‘Going Dutch’ is out now on @comedyclubfox & @hulu #FoxAmerica #goingdutch.’
A UK air date for the show has not yet been announced.
Fiona left her role as Priya in 2023 as her character departed the Dales for a new life in London after being offered an exciting new job.
It came after a distressing event at Take A Vow, when a small fire reminded Priya of the devastating incident in a maze fire that had left her permanently scarred.
Last month, Fiona shared a snapshot of her luxurious holiday to Goa with her real-life husband Simon Cotton, who she met on Emmerdale.
The actor popped up as Home Farm Estate client Hugh Bryant in August 2017.
The couple enjoyed a pre-Christmas getaway together exploring North and South Goa in India.
Sharing snaps of their stunning trip on Instagram, Fiona said: ‘North & South Goa.. Utterly beautiful. Incredible memories. We met so many beautiful people inside and out.
‘I fell in love with India & the impression it’s left on me will stay with me always. Feeling recharged and so blessed.’
