Tyrone Dobbs was left reeling when the truth about his son was finally revealed.

This week saw the return of Tyrone’s ex-girlfriend Alina Pop, as she was called as a witness in a human trafficking court trial.

When Fiz bumped into Alina in Freshco’s car park, she was horrified to see a little boy on Alina’s phone screen. Alina said the child was her nephew, but she later admitted to Fiz that it was her son.

Fiz told Tyrone what had happened and convinced him to see Alina, but when he arrived at the hotel, she had already checked out.

Tonight’s (August 9) episode saw Tyrone looking for Alina, with the support of his mum Cassie. However, Evelyn and Fiz weren’t as keen on the idea.

“I suppose, after everything that’s gone on, all the pain that I caused, it probably would be easier if he wasn’t mine,” Tyrone told Kevin later.

Meanwhile, at the cab office, Cassie answered a call for an airport booking. After hearing Alina’s name, she took Steve’s cab to pick up the fare. However, instead of taking Alina and her son to the airport, Cassie drove them to Coronation Street to see Tyrone.

Alina was furious but eventually agreed to talk to Tyrone. She confirmed that the boy was Tyrone’s son and that his name was Dorin.

Tyrone asked why Alina told him she wasn’t pregnant when she left the street. “I didn’t need your help. I still don’t,” she said, adding that she had been living in England for years.

Relaying the interaction to Fiz, Tyrone explained that Alina would be staying in Weatherfield until the trial ends. “She wants me to get to know Dorin,” he told his shocked wife, before revealing he was paying for her hotel.

The couple received mixed reactions from their daughters when they shared the news. Ruby was eager to meet her half-brother, but Hope feared Tyrone would abandon the family again.
