Emmerdale star Isabel Hodgins is pregnant with her first child!
The soap star, who has played Victoria Sugden since 2006, married her partner, Adam Whitehead, just months ago in a fairytale ceremony in Manchester.
She met Adam, a PE teacher, at a gym, and they’ve been together for three years. They actually went to the same school growing up, but their paths didn’t cross until much later due to them being three years apart.
Now, Isabel, 31, is thrilled to be starting a family, having confirmed the news and debuted her bump in a gorgeous photoshoot.
Speaking to OK! Magazine, the actress laughed about how Adam, 28, was actually the one to tell her that she was expecting.
‘Isabel was late by a few days, so she did a test. But then, she just threw it on the floor, and it was upside down just lying there,’ Adam explained.
‘I didn’t want to look at it, as I felt it would make time go slower to stare. But Mr Impatient comes along to look at it and sees that it’s positive,’ Isabel joked.
‘But I thought, “Surely we can’t trust it because it’s been upside down, so it might have impacted the result.” We rushed to Boots to buy three more, and they were all positive too, so we thought it must be right!’
Isabel, who is now four months pregnant, added that it’s an ‘exciting but also scary’ time for the newlyweds.
‘It has happened so fast, and it’s our first time,’ she admitted, having originally planned to wed in 2026 before realising they wanted to have babies sooner.
‘I kept changing the goalposts, but this was always the plan!’
Confessing that she’s ‘pretty knackered’ due to pregnancy, Isabel said things have felt ‘tougher’ than she expected them to.
But there’s no denying how ‘happy’ she is, regardless of the ‘fatigue’ and Adam putting up with her ‘mood swings’.
Of course, Isabel will take time off from Emmerdale when her little one arrives, which she has mixed emotions about.
‘I will miss it. I love the people there, but I’ve worked there for 19 years, so I feel like I’ve done what I’ve wanted to do and been selfish with my career. Now, it’s time to devote my life to being a mum, that feels right to me.’
But don’t worry, fellow cast members, because she plans on FaceTiming constantly to make sure she isn’t forgotten.
The ITV actress also shared her baby joy on social media, and the parents-to-be were soon inundated with congratulatory messages from her co-stars.
‘Congratulations-absolutely wonderful news made up for you both ’, commented Lisa Riley.
‘So happy for you both!!! ’, added Danny Miller.
‘AHHH CONGRATS XOXO’, wrote Bradley Riches.
‘Omg iz!! So happy for you both, big congratulations ’, penned Daisy Campbell.
Isabel has long had a close bond with her co-stars, as Aaron Dingle actor Danny Miller was also present at her wedding.
Other famous soapy faces on the guest list included Mark Jordon, Laura Norton, Jeff Hordley, and Zoë Henry, while Eden Taylor Draper was a bridesmaid.
She and Adam exchanged vows at the cool Castlefield Rooms in the northern city centre.
Posting their wedding footage online afterwards as it all started to sink in, Isabel declared it ‘the most amazing day of our lives’.
