Emmerdale’s John Sugden is set to finally be exposed, however, people are convinced his kill list isn’t finished yet.
With many villagers holding clues to discovering Nate Robinson’s real killer, it’s only a matter of time before the truth is revealed.
Between Robert Sugden, Paddy Kirk, Mackenzie Boyd, ITV viewers shared that they think it will be a team effort.
Taking to Reddit to share their theories, one person said: “I hope [John] ends up confessing to Paddy via the helpline chat thing and Paddy works with Robert to piece it together”.
“He’s a long way from understanding what has really been going on. I think they’d is still a role for Mack to play in exposing all John’s secrets (and presumably Paddy, too). There’d be great drama in seeing Mack, Rob and Paddy all coming together to save Aaron in some big final showdown…”
However, others think that Mackenzie won’t have long left on Emmerdale, especially after a teaser released at the start of the year showed him desperately running through the woods.
One soap fan suggested: “With the cost cutting and all, and the ‘life changing’ storyline involving Aaron and Mack, I wouldn’t be surprised if John kills Mack when he’s about to be exposed, being caught by Aaron.
“And then Aaron is kidnapped by John, leading to a Robert, Cain and Paddy team up (????). Anyways, for a storyline in which Mack is running in the woods and should be “life changing” for both Aaron AND Mack, I see John as the only possible link…”
With another person writing: “Honestly, I think that was probably what they initially planned, but then [Ryan] Hawley [who plays Robert Sugden] agreed to return and he got given the glory of discovering the truth instead.
“Frankly, I’m a bit worried about what their plan is with Mack, long-term now. It feels like they were setting Aaron and Mack up to be a chaotic duo (whether that was originally going to be romantic or kept strictly platonic, I’m not sure).
“Now it feels like, with Rob and Ron so blatantly and predictably destined to be reunited, that Aaron’s going to just become Robert’s boyfriend/emotional punching bag again, and Mack’s character is being reduced back down to the 2D mess he was during the Chloe/Charity saga.
“Especially with the surrogacy story going the way it is, currently, it feels like he’s going to be demoted, narratively, if not killed off during the new storyline he’s supposed to be having alongside Aaron this August.”
