The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) may finally be ready to get the payback she deserves. Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) tried to gaslight Elena into thinking there was nothing going on with Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle), but she ultimately learned the painful truth.

It’s been nice to see Elena stand up for herself and put Nate in his place.

Elena is definitely fed up with Nate’s nice guy persona since it’s phony and doesn’t fit with the new Nate she’s come to know.

Victoria and Nate have become quite the power duo, but Elena certainly hasn’t forgotten about how they got together. Nate cheated on Elena, so she deserves to get revenge as a result.

Of course, Elena herself has done her fair share of cheating, but that doesn’t make it right for Nate to betray her.

It also doesn’t mean that Elena has to stuff down her fury, so she’s entitled to seek vengeance if she wants it.

There was a time when Elena seemed willing to sit back and just let Nate’s relationship with Victoria implode on its own.

However, that’s not as satisfying as Elena playing an active role in taking Nate down and making him suffer.

It feels like Elena may be changing her tune, which can only mean good news when it comes to Y&R pulling off some juicy drama.

“You see, Nate, these games you keep playing are going to eventually backfire on you,” Elena predicts in the August 3 episode. “And they are going to burn you down to the ground. And who knows? Maybe I’ll be the person to light the fire.”

Does that mean Elena will indeed set fire to Nate’s life and become the one to burn down his happiness?

We can’t think of a better candidate to blow up Nate’s world than bitter, scorned Elena.

Perhaps Elena will find some opportunity to show off Nate’s manipulative side and prove to all the Newmans that he can’t be trusted – including Victoria.

Elena might score major new evidence against Nate depending on what shady moves he makes in the coming weeks.

By the time Elena is through, Nate might end up jobless, heartbroken and alone!
