Virgin River star leaves fans emotional with ‘special’ moment as season 7 wraps filming

Virgin River star Colin Lawrence has shared an emotional post on Instagram after taking a trip to London, UK this week.

The actor best known for portraying John ‘Preacher’ Middleton in all six seasons of Netflix’s hit romance drama has recently wrapped filming the show’s upcoming seventh outing.

Season seven will pick up after Mel Monroe (played by Alexandra Breckenridge) tied the knot with Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson), though their nuptials ended in disaster as Charmaine (Lauren Hammersley) appears to be missing.

Meanwhile, Preacher managed to escape jail time for the accidental killing of the abusive Wes (Steve Bacic) and his relationship with firefighter Kaira Bryant (Kandyse McClure) is getting stronger by the day.

As millions of fans anticipate Virgin River’s return in the next few months, Lawrence revealed he recently returned to his birthplace in London during a tour of Europe.

Sharing a selection of sweet snaps of his family in the capital, he wrote in the caption: “The first stop on the European vacation is England, where I was born.

“I haven’t been back since I was a little boy. It was fun to play tourist and I even got an opportunity to visit the home I lived in as a child!”

He signed off with an emotional note: “Not gonna lie, that was something special.”

Among the images were a smiley selfie of the actor, his wife Lucia Walters and their two daughters, as well as a photo of his childhood home.

Lawrence’s followers were clearly touched by the insight into the star’s journey back home, taking to the comments to share their well wishes.

One Instagram user replied: “Beautiful family! Enjoy your vacation! Safe travels.”

Someone else commented: “Gorgeous family! The girls are all grown up and so beautiful! Looks like a fun trip!”

“Wow, that must have been emotional!” a third added. “And lovely that you could come back to visit.”

And one regretful fan posted with crying emojis: “Awwww I can’t believe you’re there just when I’m visiting family in Italy!! Hope you had a great time.”

Lawrence’s character Preacher immediately became a favorite amongst viewers when Virgin River first premiered on Netflix in 2019.

Since then, he’s stuck around to support Mel and Jack while also dealing with his own personal drama for all six seasons of the increasingly popular streaming series.
